Erosion Control for Sandy Court, Labrador

We’re kicking off the new year highlighting a project we recently did for the City of Gold Coast in Sandy Court, Labrador.

The brief was to sure up the Loder Creek bank by planting grasses and shrubs such as lomandras as an aid in erosion control control during major flood events, while also improving the aesthetic of the area for the community.

Lomandras were chosen due to their deep system of roots which acts as a soil binder. The tree guards you see around the new plants are to prevent the prolific bird populations in the area from pulling the plants out of the ground.
